Durante la pandemia que estamos viviendo, muchos hemos pasado a trabajar en remoto en condiciones extraordinarias – con los hijos y otros dependientes en casa, con poco apoyo logístico, etc. En esta situación, desde el ICWC (IESE International Center for Work and Family), hemos hecho un estudio de qué buenas prácticas personales llevan a la eficacia en el trabajo en remoto; de cómo facilitar el trabajo de los colaboradores; y de cómo quisiéramos que esto se traduzca en un posible Teletrabajo cuando estemos en condiciones “normales”.

Toda empresa está metida en un futuro que se puede definir con concreción según su trayectoria reciente (políticas, procesos, recursos, personas, relaciones, etc.). A menudo esta trayectoria nos aboca a crisis de distinto calado y naturaleza. En la resolución de prácticamente cualquier tipo de crisis, la forma de lograr los mejores resultados es imaginar cual sería la situación ideal, y después anticiparse disolviendo los problemas clave hasta llegar donde estamos hoy y que serían causa de la "destrucción de la empresa" si no hay actuación.

It was great while it lasted! The longest bull market in history measured by the S&P 500 came to a sudden and dramatic halt on March 12. To add to the drama, the market entered into bear territory (a fall of 20% from its previous all-time high) by plunging 9.5% in a single day. In the period between February 19 and March 19, the market fell 29%. Many portfolios have been devastated. What’s to be done in such an environment? Should one sell stocks and find a shelter in bonds, or look to gold? Or not sell at all and perhaps even load up on stocks?

In this session, Profs. Javier Estrada & Mike Rosenberg will discuss the impact of the coronavirus on the financial markets, compare it to other bear markets, and draw some lessons to help investors navigate the current storm.
