One day in the room where the decisions are made.

The High Potential Leadership Experience (HPLE) is a selective, international, on-campus immersion designed for top-tier university students with strong leadership potential, who are seriously thinking about their next step academically, professionally, and personally.

The HPLE is designed to challenge yourself: how you think, how you decide, and how you contribute, before making decisions about your future. Exactly as our Master in Management and Master in Finance students work every week.

What the day actually is

It is not an Open Day.
It is not a marketing event.
It is not a campus tour with presentations.

The event brings together participants from different countries for a day of academic discussion, collaboration between like-minded peers, and interaction with the IESE community.

What you will take away

✓ A real measure of how you think under pressure, and whether this way of learning suits you

Two case-discussion sessions, in the format used in our classrooms every week

Direct conversation with current students and alumni about what happened to them after the programme

A view of both routes, management and finance, and how each one shapes a career

The people. Some of them will be in your class if you come.

The day, hour by hour
Plan your travel around this. Most participants coming from within Europe arrive on Friday evening and fly home on Saturday night.

 09:00
Welcome with the MiM and MiF admissions team
Who is in the room, how the day works, and what is expected of you.

 09:45
Team preparation, first case
You are assigned a discussion group and work the case together before the session.

 11:00
First case session with IESE faculty
A management case, taught the way it is taught in the programme.

 13:00
Lunch on campus with current students
Unscripted. Ask them anything you would not ask an admissions officer.

 14:30
Second case session, finance focus
A finance case, for anyone weighing the Master in Finance or a career in the sector.

 16:30
Career Development Center
How graduates actually reach the roles they reach, and what the recruiting calendar looks like.

 17:30
Alumni conversation
Three to four alumni, three to five years out, on what the year did and did not do for them.

 18:15
Campus and closing reception
With the admissions team, faculty and the people who could become your classmates.

Who should apply
  • In your final years of university, or up to two years of full-time work experience since graduating
  • Any academic background. Engineers, lawyers, economists, scientists and humanities graduates all sit in our classrooms
  • Comfortable speaking up in a discussion, or willing to find out whether you are
  • Working in English without difficulty. The entire day is in English
  • Seriously considering a master's in the next two admission cycles, not browsing

Travel Support

The event is FREE. You will only have to cover the accommodation and travel costs.
To facilitate participation, IESE offers partial travel reimbursement depending on where you are coming from.
Maximum reimbursement amounts:

Important details:
  • Reimbursement is processed after attendance at the event
  • Participants are reimbursed for the actual cost incurred, up to the maximum amount
  • The support may be used for transportation or accommodation (with supported invoice)
  • Visas and personal expenses are not covered

Selection Process

Places are limited and admission is selective. We read every application. Not everyone who applies is offered a place, and a waiting list may apply.

Applying after the event

Participants selected for the HPLE gain access to Fast-Track conditions on an application to the Master in Management or the Master in Finance, valid for applications submitted before 31 December 2026.

The Fast-Track does not shorten the process or guarantee admission. You complete the same application, the same admissions test and the same interviews as every other candidate. What changes are the conditions attached to applying within that window. We explain them in full on the day.
