Álvaro San Martín
Álvaro San Martín is an Assistant Professor of the Managing People in Organizations Department at IESE Business School. His background includes working experience in finance, consulting, and managing non-profit organizations. Alvaro also worked at IESE as a researcher before joining the doctoral program at INSEAD. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Management, with a specialization in Organizational Behavior. Alvaro had previously majored in Economics as class valedictorian at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid.
His research interests lie in cultural psychology and team dynamics. Alvaro has published his work in premier scientific journals, such as Nature Human Behaviour, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. He has regularly presented his research in the annual meetings of the Academy of Management, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, the European Association for Social Psychology, and the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology, as well as in invited presentations at London Business School, ESMT, and joint research workshops of IESE/IE/Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.
Prof. San Martin teaches courses on leadership, organizational behavior, and self-management in the Executive MBA, Open Programs, and Custom Programs offered at IESE. He also participates as a speaker in company events.
