Throughout his long-career, Dr. Padilla has advised many clients on a variety of topics related to policies on competition, regulation and intellectual property.
He has served as an expert witness on international arbitration cases and provided testimony before various international courts, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
In Europe, he has defended reports and provided evidence before competition authorities in Spain and other EU member states, as well as the European Commission, the General Court and Court of Justice of the European Union, and the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal. Dr. Padilla regularly speaks at conferences on competition and regulation policy, particularly on topics in the energy sector.
He holds a Master’s Degree and PhD in Economics from
the University of Oxford, and he is currently a research fellow at the Center
for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI). He has taught classes on
competition economics for many years at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics,
Toulouse School of Economics and King’s College London.
