Dear Alumni,
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming alumni session exploring Dynamic Pricing and Revenue Management, two increasingly important concepts shaping how companies make pricing decisions and maximize profitability.
Led by IESE Professor Mhalis Markakis, the session will examine how companies set and adjust prices and manage product availability over time, across different offerings and sales channels, using data, analytics, and predictive models.
A familiar example is the airline industry, where the same flight can be sold at different fares depending on anticipated demand, remaining seats, and the time left before departure. Since emerging in the 1980s, these practices have transformed industries such as transportation, hospitality, and advertising, and are now gaining importance in retail, entertainment, insurance, finance, and professional services.
During the session, we will explore:
- The historical evolution of dynamic pricing and revenue management.
- The key principles, methods, and analytical tools used in practice.
- The strategic and organizational challenges of implementing data-driven pricing.
Join us for an insightful discussion on how data-driven pricing can influence business strategy, decision-making, and profitability across industries.
We look forward to welcoming you to this engaging alumni session!
Best regards,
The IESE Alumni Team
